Matthew Jones is the Owner and Chief Investigator of Palafox PI, a licensed private investigator and former Detective Lieutenant with extensive experience across major crime investigations, white-collar crime, background investigations, surveillance, and complex casework. He has testified at multiple levels of court and has been recognized as an expert witness in investigative matters, bringing real-world experience and analytical rigor to every assignment. He is actively involved in the professional investigative community and currently serves as an Area Director with the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators (FALI).

A Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Jones’s investigative career has been defined by public service, accountability, and ethical practice. As a former Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Task Force Officer, he conducted complex investigations involving child exploitation, human trafficking, cybercrime, and financial fraud, frequently working in coordination with local, state, and federal partners. Assisting victims of human trafficking and financial fraud in navigating these investigations remains among the most meaningful aspects of his work.

Mr. Jones maintains a strong commitment to professional development and investigative best practices. He is a Certified Economic Crime Forensic Examiner (CECFE) through the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) and holds a Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership. This combination of investigative expertise and organizational leadership allows Palafox PI to deliver thoughtful, well-documented investigative services tailored to each client’s circumstances
